- Bishop's Ministry Appeal
Joining Hands To Do God’s Work
The 2010 appeal weekends will be February 21st and February 28th.
What is the Bishop’s Ministry Appeal?
Prior to 2002, each parish was charged a service fee to help pay for the Diocesan ministries. In 2002, the Bishop’s Ministry Appeal (BMA) was created as a separate appeal and service fees were reduced. The BMA helps to partially fund the operating expenses of the ministries. These are the normal day-to-day expenses, such as monthly bills.
In 2010, the total cost of the ministries will be about $2.3 million. We are hoping to raise about $2 million through the 2010 BMA.
Some examples of the important work done by the ministry directors includes vocation and seminarian education, RCIA, religious education, and the training of our Deacons through the school of ministry.
