Special Occasion for Our Lady of La Vang

A special occasion for Our Lady of La Vang was celebrated at the House of the Cistercian community in commemoration of the 2nd anniversary of the first visit at the Diocese of Stockton.  The Mass was in honor of Sr. Michelle Xuan Nguyen who celebrated her 25th anniversary of professing vows.  At this Mass, our prayers were also offered for our  Bishop Myron Cotta  and the Diocese, the new Abbot Dominic Tran Hung, Fr. Jos Hung Nguyen for his 25th anniversary of priesthood, Fr. Nicolas Thanh Le for his 25th anniversary of professing vows, Sr Wanda for her 50th anniversary of vows and Sr. Sharon for her 65th anniversary of vows.

Sr. Michelle renewed her vows, according to Cistercian practices, during the Mass that was presided over by the Bishop of Stockton diocese, 10 priests and 2 deacons.  The Mass was celebrated in Vietnamese and English with over 200 parishioners from the United States and Vietnam in attendance.
 
After Mass, a light supper was served while guests were entertained by musical performances and other light entertainment. The Bishop ended the evening with a final blessing.
 
In conclusion, we would like to thank everyone who assisted at and attended the Mass and celebration for your ongoing care and love.  May God and Our Lady of La Vang bless you always. We will remember you in our daily prayers, as well as our deceased Bishop Stephen Blaire.
