Bishop Blaire and other representatives of the Diocese attended the first meeting of creditors. The Bishop answered questions about the bankruptcy filing from the attorneys for individual creditors and the committee.
A status conference on the case is scheduled for Feb. 26. On the same day, Judge Christopher Klein will hear motions filed by the Diocese seeking permission to continue paying contractors providing communications and pastoral assistance. A follow-up status conference is expected to be scheduled as well.
