Pastoral Leadership in Hispanic Ministry
Formation and Latino leadership development is a priority in the conclusions of the Fifth National Encuentro for Hispanic/Latino Ministry. The Office of Hispanic Ministry provides training through the updated and adapted curriculum developed by the NCCHM - National Catholic Council for Hispanic Ministry. This is a training program that consists of 84 hours of class-sessions offered on saturdays and few on sundays, and the necessary time to develop and implement a pastoral ministry project. The goal of this training course is to develop a Gospel-based Latino Leadership with the necessary skills to be effective in the participation in the life of the Church and its mission.
Objectives:
To form people from parishes to perform leadership actions in the parish community with a sufficient theoretical practical foundation in theology, spirituality, pastoral ministry, and social teachings of the Church.
To build a vision of leadership for the ecclesial community in intercultural dialogue and in the promotion of social justice at a local level.
To foster the creation and implementation of concrete pastoral projects and community service projects on a personal level or as a parish team.
