The Church and the Diocese of Stockton rejoices at the ordination of seven men from our parishes. These men who were accompanied by their wives, have journeyed in Deacon Formation the last six years. Their journey has been filled with theology, studying the sacraments, and learning all that goes into being a deacon at the service of the Church. The men have been prepared in Social Justice, Prison Ministry, and many other areas that strengthen the deacon for his assignment. We thank God for all the joy and love these deacons and their wives will bring to our diocese. Blessings and many graces as they take up their assignments in their parishes. Let us continue to pray for them.
The newly ordained deacons will have the following assignments:
Deacon Baltazar Aguirre - St. Gertrude, Stockton
Deacon Richard Braun - St. Joseph, Modesto
Deacon Juan Espinoza - St. George, Stockton
Deacon Armando Moreno - Cathedral of Annunciation, Stockton
Deacon Juan Palomar - St. Stanislaus, Modesto
Deacon Dan Paulus - St. Mary's, Oakdale
Deacon Stephen Valgos - Our Lady Assumption, Turlock
Thank you to Raul Guillen, a good friend of the diocese who volunteered to take the pictures for the ordination!
